Simple keyboard question 1

When a key on a keyboard has like four different characters/symbols on it, how are you supposed to press the third or fourth key?

(Normally, most keys on a keyboard have only two characters or symbols, for example, the "2" key has the number "2" and the symbol "@" which can be accessed by pressing Shift-"2". What key combination should I press to access the third or fourth character/symbol on the same key?)

try the "Alt" and "Alt Gr" keys. This depends on the keyboard, but the the keys i gave you, i'm sure Alt will work for one of them, and depending on the keyboard, you'll have another key similar to "alt gr" (french keyboard)

Thanks I'll try that ^_^ My keyboard doesn't have an "Alt-Gr" key but it does have "Alt" so I'll test that

No problemo.. Usually the 'other' key will be somewhere down by the space bar.. so have a look around..

You might also be able to get some info from the manufacturer's site..

Is this a laptop? Sometimes there are also function key combinations. There might be a Fn key also. Often, these are color coded - like the Fn key might have blue text and the 3rd character/symbol would also be blue. Often these are related to screen brightness, contrast
