What is the procedure for safely powering down the signaling servers. We are in the process of doing electrical panel work, and have to powerdown, 2-signaling servers, and the 2-cisco switches that the E-Lan & T-LAN are configured on. the is will shut down both Vlans and trying to find the best procedures on powering down the servers. The PBX (opt81c) will still be up, its on battery power. I really don't like just pushing the button on the front of the sig servers, but if that's the only way. We also have to power down symposium link and callpilot which I've done before and feel ok with (windows 2003 servers) your input is appreciated.

The signalling servers are not windows servers. They are vx works. I usually just hit the off button on the front.

Thanks, I know there not windows server, I just think it's a harsh way of shutting them down. I guess I am just conditioned to gradually powering down equipment. Thanks for the info.

Remember to backup the NRS and personal directories as these are 2 applications that are not stored in the call server.

thanks tnphoneman, I really didn't think about that, the good thing is that I had configure the personal directoy to back-up to another Sig-Server in another location.
Thnx.
