Hello

I am running a Microsoft WIN2K server SP4 file server.Clients are using WINXP SP3.During the last weeks I have issues with some files.Users cannot sopy or cut paste them.A message appears that " Cannot move file; Its being used by another program or person"
Noone or nothing is using this file. What gives solution is rebooting server but this is not something that I should based on.
Is there any bug on the OS software?

Any help or advice is apprecciated.
Regards

- Wich type of file: an Office one ? : notepad or Winword
manages lock differentely (notepad don't).

hi,
what about my first question ?
when you open document from client1, what you see on
Shared Folders; and what when you close it ?

Windows 2000 is older than Office 2003, and you can need patches on Server OS, (
or in application (
Look in technet about "opportunistic locking".

When this iussues began ?

bye

Whice one copy-paste rute :
1. Copy from Server >> paste to client, or
2. Copy from Client >> paste to Server, or
3. Copy from Server >> paste to Server, or
4. Copy from Client >> paste to Server ???
I think We should troubleshoot one by one, don't U, Bro ?
Hopely I can hear ur reply soon, because I ever found it in my server (2003).
