Shared Number Variable ARRAY

Can someone please help me with all the required formulas that would allow me to create and pass an array of numbers to be used in a subreport?

I have a number of PR IDS generated in my main report that I want to pass to my subreport. My subreport then performs summaries and calculations on these records IDs.

I thought this would be very simple but most of the example I have found are passing string variables or very complex situations.

I would create s delimited string, something like 23/14/17/32
Pass that to the subreport, then use SPLIT to treat it as an array.

In what main report section do the IDs reside that you want to add to the array?

Can you explain why a subreport is necessary to perform the summaries?
