After Removing the domain (demoting) from a Windows 2003 server I am not able to access the shared folders and printers on the machine anymore.

Now being a Windows guy, can someone please point me in the right direction in allowing users in a Windows XP Pro based workgroup access to the printers and shared folders on the 2003 machine without having to assign a domain? a Domain for this given network is a totally rediculous idea.

Thanks in advance

a domain for ANY number of users is not a bad idea. Even 1 or 2.

You'll need to create local users accounts on the server that have the same password as the users are using on their workstations. Every time they change passwords, you'll need to change it on the server as well.

We have created teh user accounts and still no access is allowed to the shared folders and printers. The users can print to the printers if the sign on directly on teh 2003 server, just not remotely...

can they browse the network and see the shares?
