any idea on something to search through a virtual directory of word (and some excel, but not necessary to search) documents? i'd also rather not use ms index server.
i'm creating an online document management system, and i would rather not keep an index of keywords for each document in the database. i'd like to be able to point to a directory and tell it to search through the word documents for a phrase.
any suggestions would be much appreciated! mike griffith
