Hi

I'm wondering if it would be possible to do a software raid using solaris 8 on a sun ultra 10 machine.

I have a normal uw scsi card with a 68pin connection.

What I want to do is buy two cheap 9gigs and increase the access time by doing a software raid.

thanks

While I am not sure why you would want to increase the access time, Sun's Disksuite product and Vertitas' Volume Manager product can both manage 'just a bunch of disks' I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

If you go for Solstice Disksuite there is no additional cost (after the disks), the sofware is on the Solaris CD.

RAID can increase thoughput, but not decrease access time I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
