I looked for something like this before I posted, I found issues but nothing like mine. So here goes....

I have 4 sites that all use IP Office 500 V2. We have SCN setup between them that works most of the time. The main office never has a problem dialing out tho the other three office's at all, almost ever! However at least once a week the other three offices are unable to dial the main office. The information comes up on their screen but they get a "busy" tone and a message that says busy. It also happens to them if they try each other. A reboot of the system resolves the issue, but doing that at night doesn't fix the problem during the day. The main system is doing everything via the Lan1 port, the rest are routed back to the main office via the Lan2 (WAN) port.

The main office has the routing tables to the others, I think the issue is a Network one. I also believe that if the remote office's loose their connection to the Main office it doesn't reconnect untill a reboot. Should I move all the SCN Traffic to the LAN1? is there anything I can do?

Thanks bunches,
Rich

When a system cannot call to the main system you say "the information is on the screen of the calling phone and then it gives a busy tone"
It sounds like all VCM channels are locked, before reboot check with Monitor, enable in the filters "System>Development tracing" and from the drop down menu "Status" select "Voice Compession" a new window opens andif all vcm channels are free the winow should not show any used channel.
If it does then dheck if the TX and RX values increas in time , if one of them ( or both ) don't increase then the VCM is locked.
Locked VCM channels can be due to a software bug or maliciuos hardware.
I suppose these units are all on the same software build and they all have the same problem the a bug is most likely the problem.

It shows that the channel's are free. The software versions are as follows.

Main office Avaya IP Office 7.0(27...)
Remote 1: Avaya 9.0.300 Gets Busy
Romote 2: Avaya 9.0.0.829 Gets busy
Remote 3: Avaya 8.1(67) Seems fine

However they all go in and out at random. I believe they might loose connection when the VPN reestablishes itself. Is there a way to extend the time out of the connection or have it auto try again? When I look at the connections in Status, they show down. yet I am able to call in to the remote site, just now out from it.

My advise, get them all to the same build before proceeding.
The changes between 7 and 9 are huge and may be very well the source of all problems.
Beside that, there is no support for 7 from Avaya, so if it is a interworking problem Avaya does not fix it.

When the IPO boots it looks for the software versions and when it is too low or too high then the SCN does not work.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

The book says no more than a 1 level difference between releases. So the main office on R7 is probably the issue. Upgrade it to 8.1 or 9 and you should be fine.
