Hi All,

Does anyone know if there is a direct software upgrade path from SBS2000 to SBS2008?

I have a client who has one server & 15 client machines and he has finally agreed to upgrade his software. However, I would prefer to do a software upgrade rather than a completely new installation.

Any help gratefully received!

Rgds.,

There is no upgrade path. If you are running SBS 2000, there is no way the hardware is 64-bit, and thats a requirement for SBS 2008. Even if you were running SBS 2003 on 64-bit hardware, you couldn't do a software upgrade without using the "swing" technique that would require that you borrow an additional server for temporary use during the migration.

Many thanks Dave, you've confirmed what I sort of guessed might be the issue!

Cheers.
