SBS 2003 CALs question

All SBS installations come with 5 CALs unless stipulated in the sales documents that it comes with more. At least that's what I think, as I bought OEM SBS CDs and that's what they came with. Search eBay and PriceWatch for SBS CALs, I bought my 5-user add-on CALs on eBay for a fraction of the cost and yes, they are real. Make sure you know the difference between User CALs and Device CALs.
What is strange is that when I added an 11th user (named TEST) for testing purposes, SBS did not complain. Then I added a 12th, TEST2, and still no complaint that I needed more CALs. Of course I deleted the two extra accounts and am holding at (10) users.

i ordered 5 extra cals. so with the 5 that come with sbs i should have 10 total. issue is that i recieved two cal stickers that each say 5. upon setting up the sbs server i noticed it had 5 cals activated already. so i grabbed a sticker and put in the code and now i have 10.
i just assumed i picked the right sticker. 50/50 shot i typed in the one that hasnt been used yet and went about my day. well some months went by and it just dawned on me that maybe i got 15. maybe im just being a fool but im trying to determine where those first 5 preloaded cals come from.

When I get the oem media for SBS, the cd packaging itself comes with 5 cals, the certificate is not shiny/holographic and there is not a sticker on it. If you have 2 pieces of paper with codes on them and the wavy hologram microsoft paper, you may have more cals than you realize.
example: i order a sbs server
in the media pack theres a piece of paper that says I get 5 cals, same shrink wrap as the cds. SBS knows about these 5 cals from the get-go.
If i need more cals, i order the 5 or 20 pack and that usually comes in a separate plastic wrapped package. These certificates have the ms logo and look fancy and have the code to type in to the license manager.
I have known the cal certificates to stick together and several times I have recieved more than I ordered, check your bill and packing labels.
