When attempting to "save for web", the option is simply greyed-out, and it will not allow me to select it. ctrl+alt+shift+s also does not work. all other options are available, and it's funny because just last week i WAS able to use "save for web", and i don't remember changing any settings to my photoshop.

thanks a lot.

Check under Image - Mode and make sure it is set as 8 bits per channel. I know that if it is set at 16 bits you cannot save for web.

Also make sure you are not in MultiChannel mode. That's in Image>Mode>Multichannel. That mode will definately disable the Save for Web function.

hm. yeah, i just checked both of those, and I am in 8 bits mode, and also RGB color. any other ideas?

You could try deleting the Preference file. That would be a file located most likely somewhere where your Photoshop is installed. It is a *.psp file. I know this works when my Photoshop starts doing wierd things. I'm assuming you have version 6 or higher.

Well, Pixelchik, i tried deleting that file, and it still didn't work, so i just ended up re-installing photoshop, and that seems to have solved it for now. thanks for your help. by the way, i was using version 7, so if anyone you know encounters this problem, i guess re-installing is the simple way to go.

take care,
Kevin Drew
