I have installed SAVCE 10.1.5.5000 on my server and have pushed out the client install using the remote client install in the console to 100s of my clients. However, parts of my network do not have netbios available due to routers so those machines do not show up in remote install (they show up as managed clients in SAVCE, however). Is there a way to push out the client install to the machines that do not show up in remote client install? Logon scripts? IP push? I have access to their IP addresses through DHCP.

TIA,

You can take the files in the client install share, add the correct GRC.DAT from the VPHOME or Group share/folder, and run setup.exe with the silent switch from a command line/startup script/etc.

The NT Remote Client rollout utility has a feature that should allow you to import a list of clients.

- select the target server in the right
- notice how the "select" button becomes active

At this point you can manually select IP-addresses or import a plain text file with a list of IP-addresses.

Please make sure that you have administrative permissions on all the target machines:

- ensure that all the machines are part of a domain
- or ensure that all the machines have a common username/password for administrative purposes
- ensure that the firewall on the target machines allows Windows File and Print Sharing
- ensure that Simple File sharing is turned off on target machines

That should do it.

Good luck.

Oggywan,

Thank you for that information. It works very well in my situation.
