Samba 2.2.7.0 Daemons

Dear All,

I have just installed samba 2.2.7.0 on my IBM RS/6000 server. I changed the permissions on the .exe file, then i typed the command inutoc followed by smitty install. It appeared to intsall it successfully. I then tried to start both of the daemons but i get the following errors:

For smbd
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program ./smbd because of the following errors:
0509-023 Symbol dlsym in smbd is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol dlerror in smbd is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol dlopen in smbd is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol dlclose in smbd is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol strndup in smbd is not defined.
0509-026 System error: Cannot run a file that does not have a valid format.

For nmbd

exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program ./nmbd because of the following errors:
0509-023 Symbol dlsym in nmbd is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol dlerror in nmbd is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol dlopen in nmbd is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol dlclose in nmbd is not defined.
0509-026 System error: Cannot run a file that does not have a valid format.

If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.

hi ,

do you copy the original smb.conf file with your original settings in when you installed the new version?

Have you downloaded the correct version i.e AIX version.
