Runtime Error Spoolsv.exe

I am getting the following msg. Any insight would help. The printer is an HP LaserJet M1522nf MFP and is networked.

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe

So this happens when you go to print? Does the page print? Or does the error just pop up then go away?

When you try to print all freezes. I have removed the software though and just left the driver and it seems to be fine.

have you updated the C++ Runtime Library? or it may have gotten damaged...

other aspects to check:

Java - update it to the latest...

.NET Framework

http://www.microsoft.com

and search for the above string and if not already or as a repair measure, install both version 1.1 (all updates) and version 2.0 (+all updates), and run a windows update just in case...

This sounds familiar to me. We had an issue with McAfee version 4.51 causing this issue when printing. We had to have McAfee exclude C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe from scanning.
