Hey,

I have a database that tracks and logs all work that we have in our department. when i try to save a record a runtime error '3197' appears, and when i click debug the following code is highlighted:

DoCmd.TransferDatabase acExport, _
"Microsoft Access", _
"R:\Jobs Database\BACKUP.MDB", _
acTable, _
"TblJobList", _
"Backup_" & Format(Date, "mmddyyyy") & "_" & Format(time, "hhmmss")

Can anyone help me?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

You export an entire table every time someone saves a record?

Why wouldn't you put an audit table in the BACKUP.MDB database and link it in the production database so you could simply add a record to it every time someone adds or edits a record. That way you can include the user's name and other details to the record instead of just putting a timestamp on a table name.

I have tried leaving the target DB open when i run the main DB, but still not luck.

Thing is, this DB has been working perfectly right up until a few days before new year! would this have anything to do with the problem??
