Hi,
I'm trying to put Linux 7.2 onto an array of scsi disks. I'm using an IDE computer and have disabled IDE drives in the BIOS. The RAID is running off an adaptec AHA-2940U card with an internal wide scsi cdrom. I've installed windowsNT on one of the drives without any trouble but I only get past formatting the drive in linux when the install bombs and gives me a "type read: operation not permitted" error, this occurs in the text install as well. I've checked that the card is supported in the redhat HCL although adaptec have not listed the card as being supported under linux.

Has anyone come across this before?
Thanks,

forgot I even started this one, seems as if I had to update the BIOS to get the pedestal to work - the install works fine on a local disk "I want to play..."
(Guess the episode!)
