Resource allocation

Hi,

I am having problem allocating %ages for resources from month to month.

For a task say 'ABC', I want to show resource 'XYZ' to be busy 40% in September, 30 % in October, 20 % in November and 10% in December.

Can I pick different %ages for each month.

Not that I know of. Mind you, you're already doing some math (the percentages need to add up to 100) so why not just do the next step and multiply those percentages times Work to get the Work for each period (day, week, month, whatever) and then assign those Work results in the Task Usage or Resource Usage display?

You can "fiddle" with the Work Contour in the Resource Usage or in the Task Usage displays by inserting the Work Contour column and selecting the contour you want for each task. But be careful because altering the Contour from "Flat" to, for example, "Front Loaded" (which is what your percentage figures describe) will change the duration if the task is Fixed Units or Fixed Work (though not, of course, if it is Fixed Duration).

To the best of my knowledge, the values in the Contours are hardcoded and cannot be changed nor can you create your own work contour.
