Reports Builder Novice

I am trying to modify a report (Registration Card) in Opera (Micros) Property Management System. I can get the report up in Reports Builder and some of the text is clickable and I could change it but the text area that I want to change does not respond to a mouse ckick. I don't understand why some of the text is available to me and some isn't. HELP!

Also, if I setup Reports Builder on my laptop and have a copy of the report I want to modify can I work on it without the database it is associated with.

Are there any beginner tutorials I could view or read?
