Hello,

I would like to know if there are other ways for replacing outgoing caller ID (with one of the available numbers). Usually I do it like this:
9N
Dial
Nsxxxxxxxx

but sometimes this way doesn't work (the pilot number is always shown). The strange thing is that here we have the same line provider with all our costumers, and in some (Ns) works, in others it doesn't.

Thanks

Your short code is the way to do it.

This could be restricted at network level, if the exchange is only set to present one particular number it doesnt matter what you send, the exchange will change it if it is set to do that.

You need to run an isdn trace and see what the system is sending, if the trace says it is sending the number you want it to job done!

If that number is not what is being displayed then it is the network that is doing something else.

if you build your incoming call routes with 10 digits(US) then the system will use that for outgoing caller id as well. THat is if you want DID's to go out instead of the main number.

If you assign a ddi to an extn it will automatically send that as the cli.

Ok, because I am new in all this I would like to know how I can do an ISDN trace.

System monitor application with the isdn options enabled in the filters.

The easiest way to do it is to adjust the ? . Dial shortcode to look like this:

?
.Sxxxxxxxxxxx (where x is valid no on circuit)
Dial
0 (line group)

This will force out the specified no with all outbound calls. If you want to just nail it down to specific users, just put the same shortcode in the user field.

Hope this helps!!

Remember if the network are sending you 6 digits then send them 6 digits for CLI....

I have known some exchanges be very picky about this

Fooball is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

Some providers need NSixxxx instead of just NSxxxx.
Has something to with wich field of ISDN values will be used for the CLI.
I needed Si in Belgium for example instead of S.

The correct code is:
[9]N;
Nsi 123-456-7890
Dial 3k1

I have seen problems with 3.2.xx with 10 digit dialing.
I had

[9]N;
dial3k1
Ns8005551212

and changed it to

[9]xxxxxxxxxx;
dial3k1
Ns8005551212

I just paste a hand written post-it note to the call when it leaves on the wire...

j/k...everyone seems to have it covered here.

i would re-iterate what PlatinumGuy said, check with CO to see if they have a static outbound CLI/billing/main telephone number set...outbound ANI.

Just worked on this today.

In the 9X Short Codes for system wide changes go to

9N for local and 9N1 for long distance

[9]N;
Dial
Nsi123456E

123456 is the NPA-NXX and big E is the extension. When the PRI dial outs it follows the shortcode and adds the E for the extension number. i.e. Extension 2212 will show the full 10 digits 630-555-2212. For long distance add the 1 so callers can use caller id to return calls 630-555-2212
