Can someone recommend some methods and/or tools to analyze PCs on my network to perform an inventory of what software is installed on each of them. A nice feature would also be the ability to remove and push software to the PCs (Windows XP and 2000). Any info is appreciated.

Thank you,

Some third party tools to look at.

Depending on your network these can be considered.

HOW TO: Use Group Policy to Remotely Install Software in Windows 2000

Remote Desktop or Remote Assistance are possibilities. Many programs like registry cleaners provide a listing of installed software. There is always the Add or Remove Programs via Control Panel to look at.

do you want to remotely inventory? is it a strictly win network?

cheers!
