remote printer setup

I connect from my W98 PC to the host HP-UX system via a VPN and telnet session. I would like to be able to print directly to a HP DeskJet (LPT1 on my PC). I have loaded the /etc/hosts file with xxx.xxx.xxx PCTC and was able to setup a remote printer (TCHP = HC842C on TCPC) in sam. lpstat -t says the printer is enabled and trying to send, but nothing happens. The printer is shared in Windows.

Any troubleshooting advice would be appreciated.
