Has any one set up remote administration on the Partner Messaging using a static IP, if so can you be specific on how you set it up.

Are you talking about remote admin or onsite admin? It is quite easy for onsite admin. You would either need to gather the information such as the static IP address and the subnet. Then you will need a 355 adapter and a serial cable. Connect the serial cable from your laptop to the 355 adapter. Then a RJ45 cord from the 355 adapter to the RS232 plug on the PM. Open hyperterminal on the laptop and connect using one of your com ports with the setting of 19200, 8, N, 1, none. When you see the login screen use sysadmin and the password is your system admin password. Select 1 for configuration and I believe it is 3 for IP address assignment. Enter in the parameters you gathered in the beginning . Exit the hyperterminal program and load the PM admin software that matches your release. Plug in your ethernet cord to the existing Lan. Open the PM software and when prompted enter in the IP address that you gathered and entered in the PM. The login is sysadmin and the password is the same. Sorry if it was too much info but you really weren't too specific as too what you were looking for. Now if your talking about remote admin, that would involve some router configurations or VPN setup of some kind.

AJ- Sorry for any confusion , but I thought that saying remote was enough, guess I should have said remote off site administration via Partner Administration software, anyway thanks for the reply, but I'm looking for anyone that has it working, and how they did it as I have tried different ways , can always access it locally thru a LAN, but haven't been able to access it remotely using a static IP and gateway address.

To clarify my question- Can Partner Messaging be used to a remote location by using a static IP, the subnet would be the same as the default gateway.
Or do I need to have a PC with Partner Messaging loaded at each location on the local network and then VPN to that PC?

I have a customer with multiply sites that changes the AA greetings, and then back to the original, they keep their recordings on a PC and just load when needed via Partner messaging admin. At the present time they only do this a the local site, but now what to be able to do this to the other sites also from the home office hense the question.

The best way I have found to to assign a pubilc IP to a computer that is on the network. Install the software on the computer. Connect to the computer and use the software. The rest is net hardware specific
