does anyone have an idiots guide for this? I want to be able to go onto the network in my office, from home. I have installed remote access desktop-not sure what to do next! I have tried to do it through VPN but it wont connect to the server using the ip address I have given it.

Are you trying to access your server or you work desktop pc?

I am trying to access my server-I am the administrator and know all the passwords etc., but I dont know how to configure it over the net

First you need to configure your VPN using 2 routers one at the office and at your home. You will need a static IP provided by your ISP for each of these location. Next setup your servers Terminal Service for administrator mode, also make sure port 3389 is open on your router. Now using Remote Desktop type in the IP address (the static IP) where the server is and you should connect. Hope this helps.
