Reformat slave when reformatting master???

Once I reformat my master HD, do I have to reformat the slave afterwards or will the master recognize it? Haven't reformatted a HD before and not sure what will happen next. Thanks.
 
Nope. You'd lose all your data if you did that. If you want to keep the second drive, disconnect it until you format and get windows running.

that way you won't erase the wrong one, and have windows in the right spot.

also, if you have a card reader, you have to disconnect it from the mb when you install windows

You don't need to disconnect your Slave HDD when installing. Normally the master HDD would be the first choice when re-installing Windows. If you are not confident though, disconnecting may be a good option.
