I have a Redhat 7.2 server with PPP version 2.4.1-3 installed. Everything looks correct however when I attempt to connect to the server, after I type the username and password, it just dies out (Actually disconnects and dissapears). Other times as soon as I finish typing the password and hit done ( I use a termimal Session windows to connect) it disconnects from the modem.

Any thoughts? James Collins

What is the logon shell for the user you are connecting as - look at /etc/passwd... ??? This is what is executed after login.

Ok. I can get past this issue now. Not sure what happened. Now when I attempt to ping anything I cannot. I added a static route on my PC and added IPforwaring and routing in my ppp setup on the LInux server. Other systems set up the same way work fine. Any thoughts? James Collins

Have you set ip_forward = 1 in the setup??

Are you running a firewall on that box??
