Recommended Maintenance Package installation problem

I am attempting to update AIX 5.1 from maintenance level 5100-02 to 5100-03. I have unzipped/untarred the package and have created a table of contents as indicated by the instructions. I am trying to update the subsystem and receive the below message. I am assuming that I am missing the bos.rte.install fileset. What exactly is this? Can I get this from the 5.1 CD-ROM? If so how would I do this (or is there something else that I need to do?)

Have you tried the following:-

before updating from maint-02 to maint-03 type in at a # prompt &quot;export LANG=C&quot;

then smit update_all

You can download the bos.rte.install fileset from the following link and install it first before the update_all:

When downloading the fileset grab the 5.1.0.35 version since that is for ML03.

tray to execute inutoc to generate .toc
or use smitty update_all

Running the command export LANG=C did the trick. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

bladesman, do you know why that worked? Is it some sort of bug in the maintenance package?
