Hi Everyone,

Not sure if this is the right place but I'm trying to create a report that uses a sub-report. For example:

The main report looks something like this:

Name DOB Address Phone Linked Report
Test 5/5/1951 123 Street 111-1111 Info
Test1 6/5/2005 456 st 222-222 info

What I would like to do is add a Linked sub-report that clicked it will bring up information about this person only.
I am able to create a sub-report and when clicked it brings up all the information for all people and not just that one person.

Any suggestions? I posted this in another group and they suggested passing a variable? If this is what I need to do can you tell me how? I'm new to this. I'm using ssrs 2005.

Thanks for your help!

Sure, from your description I'm taking it that you are talking about a drillthrough report as opposed to an embedded subreport.

Add a report parameter to the second report specifying the person's unique identifier, then select the report component in the main report you wish to use for the link and set its Action property to point to the second report. When you create the action specify the parameter in the second report and pass it the person
unique ID from the main report.

Thanks so much for your quick response! I must be doing something wrong. I'm still getting all records on the second report. I must be missing something but can't figure it out. I tried to attached a word document with screenshots but it didn't work. Is there an email address that I can send this directly to you so you can see what I have so far?

Thanks again for all your help!

Finally figured it out!!!! Your correct!!!!! thanks again for your help!
