I have a rather serious issue that involves multiple clients hitting our Terminal Server (ASP model) with some using redirected printers and some using IP printers installed on the server. In my understanding of the redirected printer issue there should not be a way for users to print to any redirected printer save their own, yet I am getting calls from client sites telling me that they are getting print jobs from other client sites.
The IP printers are controlled using client security groups so that only members of that security group have the ability to print to those printers and that has worked quite well (this is a medical practice application so I have HIPAA concerns) but I am puzzled over this redirected printer issue and can find nothing in the MSKB that addresses this problem. There is one mention of something similar but that has to do with administrators adding client printers to the client session which is something that has never been done on this server.
I have SP3 and the patch level is up to date. The server is a stand-alone with no domain affiliation.
I have issued a moratorium on any new redirected printers (which has made me many friends among the users) until I can solve this problem.
