Aix 4.3 hostname question.
rc.bsdnet contains the hostname aoot.austin.ibm.com setting. Changing the hostname after reboot is okay but has next reboot sets it back to aoot.austin etc..
Can anyone tell me why this rc.bsdnet is executed ??

Thanks

rc.bsdnet is used for those who want 4.3 BSD network management versus AIX network management. The hostname you mention is in the rc.net file and is uncommented. If you want flat file configuration without SRC support you enter the smit setbootup_option fast path and change it to BSD-style configuration. This says to use rc.bsdnet at startup.
