I have a customer with a Release 3 processor that was bad. We put in a R5 processor for a temp while we got their R3 repaired.
Can I just do a system backup on the R5, put the pcmcia card in the R3 and restore? Or will it not recognize the R5 programming?
I am trying to avoide having to reprogram the system after putting in the R3 Processor.

TIA
Todd

Nope, can't do it. Nobody's come up with a solution for this issue, and Avaya won't come up with a translation editor to convert between releases like WinSPM does.

One way to do it is download the translation image to the remote maintenance program so you have a reference to go by when you reprogram the R3 manually.

The best way is to flash the R3 to R5 and just restore off the card. Would save you 2-3 hours and make the maintenance issues disappear.

392, You are the one stop shop for answers. Thanks again. I believe that I will see about flashing the processor to R5.
