I have a new customer that currently has Basic Edition R9 and has purchased an Essential edition license. The question here is they currently have 2 digit extension numbers in Muppet Mode, can we keep those same 2 digit extension numbers in Essential? I have only designed them with a minimum of 3 digits and was under the impression that was the minimum, but there are some docs out there that reference 2 digit extension numbers. I don't like it, but it is what the customer wants, I just want to make sure it will work or not before telling the customer, and completing the reconfig.

Just configure with a 2 at front of each extension (x210, x211, x212, etc...) and let them know to just get used to it. It'd be better for the AA config depending how many phones they have. Otherwise if they're bent on it, it will work fine

From Manager Help (F1 works wonders sometimes)

Base Extension Range = 2 to 9 digits.
User Extension Range = 2 to 15 digits.
Group Extension Range = 2 to 15 digits.

The IPO will happily work with 2 digit extn numbers, the biggest disruption will be because all the default system short-codes are changed

Maybe should clarify if someone uses this as a reference.

Max digits on a H.323 extension is 7 digits or it won't be able to register.
"Extensions associated with IP phones should not be given extension numbers greater than 7 digits."

I've done SIP and DECT extensions with more than 9 digits but it doesn't seem to be supported =)

I would like to be able to enter extensions in international format as it makes more sense with SIP and you wouldn't need to edit the SIP tab for each user but don't think that gonna happen anytime soon.
