Howdy folks,

I've never tried this before. I have a SQL script from a mySQL database that includes things like table creation and data insertion.

Is there any way to use this information to create an MS-Access database. I don't actually have a mySQL database to work with, I just have the script.

I know you can write queries in Access directly using SQL, but I don't see any way to use SQL to create a table structure or insert rows.

How different is the SQL between mySQL and Access?

Thanks!

Steve

Steven,

As PHV has indicated it can be done. You need to use Data Definition queries to work with table designs.

I prefer using the functionality provided by the DAO library to work with table design, even though Jet SQL is probably a little faster. This is probably only because I am more familiar with this method though.

When it comes to working with data it depends what I'm doing as to whether I opt for DAO or SQL to achieve what I want.
