Guys,

If I change the DSCP settings for a particular Network region will the CLAN's, MedPro's and Handsets within this region need busy & releasing or reseting in order for the settings to take effect?

(S8700 with G650's and a remote G700 with LSP on CM2.1)

Cheers,

Depends on what changes you're making....tell me more.

The network guys are rolling out a new QoS stategy and have requested that all control traffic be marked with a specific DSCP value.

WE have S8700 with G650 at main location, a remote G650 and a S8300 LSP in a G700 at another smaller site.
All endpoints are DCP and we are using IGAR to route voice across the PSTN.

I would assume that the only sihnalling traversing the WAN would be H.248 for the G700 control, IPSI control traffic and Intra-Port Network traffic between endpoints.

By changing the IPSI QoS parameters (by loggining into the IPSI Services port), changing the network regions the CLAN's and Media Gateway reside in is all I am planning to do.

Is there anything else I am missing or need to you think I should be aware of?

Thanks

Hi,

That sounds like a bit of a strange setup to me. The S8300 (as far as I am aware) cannot control the remote G650 and so I thougt you would of potentially been better off with a G700 stack at the remote location.

As for the IPSI, I think you need to turn VLAN tagging on as well but you need to be aware that an IPSI will only tag VID 0 i.e. the default VLAN of the port it is connected to. Also, some of the older Cisco switches had problems with VID0.

Hope this helps.
