I am a secretary at a school. I'm trying to figure out how to program the caller id feature when an extension rings to me.
Use small words....

There is nothing to program. What release system? press feature 59 and report what your display states.

If I don't have a "system program" button am I screwed?

AH HA!!!! Now I know enough to be dangerous!!!! THANK YOU!

You should really call a local Avaya tech to help you with changes to your system, once your dangerous other problems start to happen and nobody knows why.

you can do that also from the phones that are calling you if they have a display
Feature 0 0
left Intercom
type the name you want (letter a=21; b=22; c=23; m=61 etc)
then Feature 0 0 again

that way you don't have to go into the system programming and run the risk of killing something else

If you call a local BP they will probably walk you through a few changes for a smaller remote programming fee and you have someone on the phone to ask questions to if it doesn't make sense right away what comes up on the display.
