Howdy. I need help programming a D-ch (opt 11), to
be shared with 2 new PRIs. Also, it has a back-up
D as well. How does sharing work with that?
Thanks for any support here.

Proram the 1st d-channel normally. When you program the 2nd d-channel, build it as:

LD 17
REQ: CHG
TYPE: ADAN
ADAN: NEW BDCH xx (backup d-channel)
PDCH: yy (primary d-channel)

All other prompts will take on the primary d-channel's settings.

Sorry Niseold, can you explain further? Do you have a primary and backup D already in place and want to add two more spans, or are you adding a backup D and a third span?

If adding a backup D, see Telebub's instructions above. If you're adding additional spans, you'll need to change the PRI prompt on the D channel in LD 17 ADAN. At the PRI prompt enter the new span's loop number and the Interface ID (IID) being provided by he telco. The primary D needs to be disabled to do this work, so you might want to do this after hours.

IF YOU DO A SEARCH I'M SURE YOU CAN FIND SOMEONES POSTED.

Shared dchannels and backup dchannels are 2 different entities.
To share a dchannel.
After you build the loops in cequ
you build the dchannel.
chg
adan
new dch xxx
where it ask for pri
type in the loop that will share and the number 2 - 15.
2 - 15 means the order of the shared loops.
Of course one is the loop that the dchannel belongs to.
pri loop number and x meaning order of loops.
But also remember that the local telco has to set these up also.
If you do not have sharing coming from the telco then this will not work.

Many thanks to telebub,CDMF,Dougo123,and nrsman !!
I am adding additonal spans. Your guidance
and information will make me succesful on this project.

I guess I'm not quiet following the entry of the shared dchannel

I have two PRI's one is 8 (primary dchannel)and the one to add is 9
so, at the DCHL prompt I enter 8
then at PRI I enter in sequence?
8 9 or 9 8 (descending)or do I just enter 9?

The Big Indian has iron in his words.

At the PRI prompt on the dchannel it would be 9 which is the loop number sharing the dchannel and 2 representing the 2 loop in the order.
