I was wondering what's wrong with my laptop. I'm experiencing a major slow down and it's taking me forever to even get into windows. And when I actually reach windows, I can't even do anything b/c it's too damm slow.

I was wondering what would be the exact problem. I think it's an internal hardware failure of some sort. Maybe RAM chipset? I am not sure. I could also hear a loud reading noise coming from the hardrive at the same spot. I even tried formatting the whole thing, but I'm experiencing the same problem. I'm pretty sure it's an internal hardware problem.

Can anyone pin point what I should do?

Provide laptop info:

Make
Model
RAM
Operating System
Last software install
Last driver/software updates
Has system been hanging up

Sounds like hardware. Get some diagnostic software and test it would be my first choice.

A format procedure is a lousy disk test. Find the make and model of your hard disk drive, go to the manufacturers website and download their hard drive diagnostic software and run it.
