Hello,

I recently bought a new server and installed Microsoft Exchange on it. We already have one Exchange server in our organization. When I use the system manager, I can see the second Exchange server, but the private mailbox store is dismounted. Whenever I try to mount it, I get an error. I've also noticed that there is no priv1.edb file in the mdbdata directory of the second server.

When I follow the microsoft knowledge base articles on the error, it relates to something about there not being a system account in the mailbox store. I know there is a system account for the first Exchange server, do I need to create one for the second? If so, how do I go about doing that? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Oh, in case you're wondering, the error I get is the omnipresent c1041724 error. I've seen it thrown up for a lot of things, but I'm positive that the information store on the second exchange server isn't corrupt because, well... I don't have an information store on it yet.

try to stop the information store service , then delete transaction log files, since you don't have any mailbox on this store yet. or worse yet, delete the store and recreate one. dont feel so bad, this is a good learning process since your server doesn't have anymailbox yet.
