Hi all,

I installed and played FM 2009 for about 3 days until Wednesday of last week when the "Windows has encountered and error, etc" message appeared. I un-installed the software and re-installed to find the same problem.

However, in the error message this came up,

C:\DOCUME~1\Andy\LOCALS~1\Temp\b0ee_appcompat.txt

only problem is I cannot find this file.

Can anyone help me find this hidden file or point me in the right direction.

Many thanks

Why not just use the search function of WinXP? Look for b0ee_appcompat.txt

C:\DOCUME~1\Andy\LOCALS~1\Temp\b0ee_appcompat.txt is actually:

C:\Documents and Settings\Andy\Local Settings\Temp\b0ee_appcompat.txt

You may or not find the file in there because, in theory, temp files get cleaned out on reboot. However, Microsoft doesn't always do a very good job of cleaning out temp files.

Cheers.

In Folder Options/ View, make sure you are showing both Hidden and System Files if you want to access or browse to (see) the Local Settings folder.

Otherwise you could try typing C:\DOCUME~1\Andy\LOCALS~1\Temp\b0ee_appcompat.txt

or

"C:\Documents and Settings\Andy\Local Settings\Temp\b0ee_appcompat.txt" (with quotes)

in the Start Run box and see if the text file opens for you.
