Hi,
I have a Netgear Router hard wired to a HP desk top at home.
There is a HP Laserjet 5500 hooked up to this setup.
I am trying to print wirelessly from a Dell Laptop that has no issues connecting to this wireless network.
Since this is a work laptop, I have setup my home network to use the same Work Group name. The IT guys at work told me that I needed to do that.
However, even though I can see the lap top in my Work Group from the desktop (Note: I cannot open folders in it though), I CANNOT seem to see the desk top from the laptop. Of course, therefore(?), even though I have sharing turned on and the firewalls turned off on both ends, I CANNOT seem to find the printer from the laptop to be able to print wirelessly from the laptop.
Help!
Thanks.
PS: When I hardwired the printer to the laptop, I was able to print without a problem. I had removed that printer from 'printers and faxes' since then because it was a 'local' connection as opposed to a 'network' connection and I was not sure whether that was causing problems.
