We have a PRI for incoming/outgoing calls through DID numbers. I am looking for a solution that would enable incoming calls to still be routed in the event of one of the PRI's going down. Does anyone know if the phone company offers options to have calls routed to another PRI? Example: PRI A&B - A has DIDs 4500-5000 - B has 5000-5500 - If A went down B would carry 4500-5500. Is thism possible? If not, what is the recommended solution to route INCOMING calls in the event of a PRI failure?

Actually the could do 2 PRI's and route the same DIDs over each of them..

Basically in their switch they'd setup a route pattern, and have preferences, and if the 1st choice becomes disabled, it'd flow over to the 2nd PRI..

Also make sure that you don't get shared/backup D channels, because CallManager doesn't support that yet..

Thanks alot for the reply. I just have one more follow-up question. Is this possible to do with 2 different carriers? Like Verizon and AT&T?

Nah, has to be the same carrier, and coming from the same CO..

Each carrier owns those numbers, and getting them ported to another carrier is practically impossible..

Number portability is possible. There is a charge though. You can switch carriers and keep the same number. It is not Impossible. I do it alot with my customers.
