So, i have a PRI Card LEgacy on 4.2 and get 23 voice channels; if we move that card to a R5 or R6 then we get only 8 channels of voice.... just wondering why we dont get all 23 channels first of all and if we upgrade from 4.2 to 5 in the field would we get the additional channels? i suspect we dont...

I suspect i have to contact a distributor to get the licenses....

You should not need licenses.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Legacy card gets you all channels without need for license. If it doesn't, then something else is amiss.

without calling a distributor? as i remember on 4.2 there werent any PRI Licenses on the dongle - you install the PRI and get all 23 channels.... anyone remember that?

legacy IP400 pri cards do not require licences
all channels are active "out of the box" this remains the same when fitted to a legacy card carrier in an IP 500.

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

be carefull though as you do not get all the features of a new pri card.

You will find that mobile call control etc still work, not supported if you get issues but they do still work, or they did last time I tried R7 something :)

There is no need to purchase a new card. Use the old PRI card. Order a Legacy Carrier from your distributor.
