Hi, I need to set a group of 96xx phones to maximum ringer volume and lock them there, preventing the users from lowering or muting the previously set volume. I have set up a group in the 46xxsettings.txt file and have successfully prevented the phones from fully muting the ringer by setting AUDASYS to 1. That does not stop them lowering the volume to a minimum though.
Any ideas?

Tried a big stick with nails in the end. Didn't work. Any other ideas?

You can put tape over the button and a sticky note that says do not touch.

or joking aside superglue the key in place.

But in answer to what you are really wanting , there is no configurable option for this.

OK. I'll give in. They'll have to have analogue phones if they're going to keep messing around.
Thanks all.

I've come up with 4 possible solutions.

1. Put a post it note on the phone saying don't press me.
2. Jam your screw driver into the button and pry it out.
3. Open the phone and put some tape between the button and the circuit board.
4. Hire Terry Tate the office linebacker.

phoneguy man that was awesome! thanks for the laugh and yes that would prevent them from lowering the ring volume!

Messing around with the button will also prevent them altering the reception volume. And it's Terry Tate's phone. I ain't breaking it.

You've got CM 6.2. Do you have Session Manager? If so, why not get a POE device and mount it up high where they can't touch it. External SIP based ringer device:

In 6.2, dual registration is a brand new feature, allowing a single extension number to register both with CM and Session Manager. Let them turn down the ringer as much as they want when you hang a horn over their heads.

Thanks Tom, very creative idea. I am actually doing a low tech version. I have run a bridged analogue to their booths and am going to plug in a loud warbler rather than a phone.
