I recently bought a little D-Link DNS-321 NAS device. I only had one hard drive to put in it so I transferred my files over to it. My question is, is there a way to add the second hard drive and turn on RAID without having to move my data off and back on?

The instructions state that you will loose any data when you enable RAID. Is there any way around this?

No. Features like that usually only come with higher end hardware and/or software.

Alright that's what I thought. I'll just have to transfer the data off and back again.

Thanks
