POST Data

Why does my post data look like this? I'm pulling data from an SQL 2000 Server into an update form, and whenever I hit submit I get the following post data. Why is that, and how do I fix this?

POST Data:
position=Shortstop+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++&player=Derek+Jeter+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++&updt=Update+Player

I didn't put it there though. Why is it there? Why is this happening? Seems as if this is the way it's being pulled from the database. Is this something with SQL Server?
