I have a POS network in operation on which there is three networked Epson UM220 IP printers. They had been in perfect operation up until last weekend when I was told they had all stopped working. Following a call out I determined that the IP addresses had been reset. For example the original ip had been 192.168.1.200. On inspection I found that it had changed to 224.0.0.1 as had the other 2. The factory settings for these machines is 192.168.192.168 so the machines are not resetting to that. Any ideas what would cause them to change to this specific address?

I have seen this once before, and our fix was re-running the communication lines through clean, noilesless pathways, and putting the printers on power conditioners. This may or may not be your issue.
