Hi Gents,

In a Hotel environment with a cluster of more than one node:

What will happen if the PMS Gateway goes down? How does the Property Management software make check-in and check-outs? How is Room Status updated when the PMS Gateway is unavailable?

How is Property Management interface (Tiger) aware of SMDRs of extensions that are registered on a node different than the PMS Gateway?

Thank you in advance,

Daniel

Typically you will have a minimum of three ip socket connections to a serial convertor. The serial connections are made to the PMS 1) is PMS including maid status, 2) Voicemail connected to a dedicated voicemail system or the embedded vm in your pbx 3) is SMDR. If equipped, the SMDR connects to a call accounting system and then transffered to the PMS after costing.
If PMS is down data is buffered in the PBX until the PMS is ready to receive. There is an entire Hospitality /PMS integration guide at Mitel on Line.

I suppose you're entitled to your opinion, I'm just not going to suppose very hard.
