Hi!

I have a portable hard disk that has 3 partitions:

(C:) Win98 - FAT16
(D:) WinNT4 Server - NTFS
(E:) Win2000 Server - NTFS

On some system, I can boot Win2000 withouth any problems, on some other, I can only boot in safe mode, or else I get the blue screen (INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE). The BOOT.INI file DOES point on the right partition (3, which the 2000 one) What's a DEVICE exactly? Is it the hard drive itself or the file system driver?

If anybody can help me with this one, I'll be grateful.

Thanks alot.

I think it is the harddisk itself
Sometimes, when the number of cylinders/heads in the system BIOS does not match the number of cyl/heads detected by the OS, you can get these messages...

I'd try to reinstall Win2K Peter Van Eeckhoutte
