Hi, I just wanted to know that only Pix is well enough for creating a tunnel with other Pix, or do I need to have router at the remote locations to handle routing...Is there any way we can use pix firewall for routing.....

You cannot route with the Pix. What do you need to route? VPN tunnels can be established with any device that supports IPSEC for the most part.

Thanks for your reply.

Actually I wanted to create VPN tunnel to my 3 remote office's with PIX firewall, and I dont have any router at those locations, so i just wanted to make sure that do I have to have router at those locations or only Pix will solve my vpn problem.

The pix will has some routing features but not everything. It will run RIPv2 and OSPF. For those sites, if they are single networks behind each pix, you don't need complex routing. The directly attached networks will populate the tables.

I dont know if I correcty understood your question but if you only want to create a site to site vpn tunnel, pix should do it.

Thanks
