Our company has a Phaser560, that gives almost constant transfer unit errors. Once the error occurs, I pull out and re-seat the unit, cycle power on the printer, and re-set the unit counter to 100%. This usually lasts for 20 to 40 pages of printing before happening again. Anyone out there have any ideas or similar problems?

Thanks

The clutch that moves the cams under the transfer lift arms is the problem. When you take the paper fed assembly out and have the outside toward you, the clutch is toward the left front. Sometime, taking it apart and cleaning the spring of old grease and redoing it (not much grease needed), it will work for awhile, otherwise, replacing the clutch will fix it.

You're talking about the big motor, top left facing the paper pickup unit?
If so, what's the replacement unit number?
Why does this printer have to be such a mystery to work on?

Ok, I looked further into the machine, and I think I see the part you're talking about. Would that be the cleaning blade clutch, the pre-registration clutch, or the registration clutch? Or is it one of the other two dozen clutches?
I found a web site that actually has part numbers:
If you, or anyone, could help narrow this down, I would be ever so grateful.

Thank You,
