Pervasive InstallShield templates

Hi all,

I'm actually using Pervasive SQL2000 SP4 + SDK SP2+ Installation Toolkit SP2. Some IS Templates are provided with Installation Toolkit, But I can't make it work even using the ptkmerge utility. The wse et wge Setup are fine... but they still being in English and not in French :-((
Does anyone as an experience ?

What version of InstallShield are you using? The PTKMERGE is for IS 5.5 only. If you're using any other version it won't work well. The best suggestion I can offer you would be to remove the merged install and use an embedded install where you pick the engine files and add them to your project. Another thing to look at, at least for the SDK components, is Merge Modules. With the SP3 SDK, merge modules are supplied.

Well I actually use IS6.31 and have just upgraded my PSW config to the lasts SDK and Installation Toolkit SPs.
But it doesn't help much. It still doesn't work.
Reading the Install Toolkit Handbook I thought that I can customize the Language in the ptksetup.ini. Using then an embedded install would be fine.

Any other idea?!?

Using the PTKMERGE won't work with IS 6.x. In terms of options. You can modify the PTKSETUP.INI to customize the Pervasive install. You would need to modify the INI file and ship it with the Pervasive install and call to the Pervasive install from your install. This can either be silent or not.
In terms of the embedded install, check the Embedding guide on the pervasive web site for a list of files you'll need. The list is dependant on the version (including Service Pack) and type of engine (workgroup vs server).

Ok Mirtheil,

I've allready understood that something could easily be done customizing teh PTKSETUP.INI. And, at first glance, I was glad to see a Language parameter in one of the section.
According that english=0090 and french=040c, I thought that I got what I was looking for... I think that there's something explanation in the help file you mention (this help file's include into the PTK install)that I missed.
